Replacement American hickory handle from the Link Handle company (Now a division of Seymour Mfg). American hickory is dense, tough and a naturally shock absorbent, making it ideal for striking and cutting tool handles. The long fibers and unique cell structure of American hickory allow it to flex repeatedly and return to its original shape. It absorbs and dissipates shock before it reaches the user's hands. Handle comes with a varnish finish and includes a wooden wedge for installation. Handles will vary in color.

Fit the new handle with a rasp or sandpaper. The handle should be driven tight into head. Drive the wooden wedge into the cut slot as deep as possible, and saw the extra wood (both handle and wedge) flush with the head.
