Diamond Wheel Inc. makes diamond impregnated grinding wheels for sharpening carbide saw chain. Diamond grinding wheels are the only type of grinding wheels available today that will sharpen chainsaw chain with carbide inserts. Diamond wheels are made with very fine diamond particles, so they sharpen very slowly, but leave a nice, sharp edge. Diamond wheels load up quickly and heat up cutters when sharpening regular (non carbide) saw chain, so they are not recommended. This diamond wheel has a flat faced circumference, for sharpening high impact carbide chain, often used with fire department chainsaws.
