The 150 Up Poster: Topping a giant redwood from 150 ft. up, where it's still 7 ft. in diameter, illustrates the strength, the imagination, and the determination of the woodsman. Falling the 10 ft. in diameter butt cut, right photo in series, was no simple task either. The complete story of the entire project is printed at the bottom of the poster.High Climbers and Timberfallers: Gerald has been a photo enthusiast since buying his first 35mm camera in 1967. Since then, he has built an enormous archive of photographs. He started building his collection of logging images in 1976 when he went to the woods to rig pull-trees for the loggers. "High Climbers and Timber Fallers" captures the essence of the modern old growth industry from the latter 1970's up to the millennium. It's a final record of what the industry, as a whole, experienced during the change to second growth management.
