Love the Brill Lawnmower

I love the Brill lawn mower, and as long as you have certain expectations, you will as well.
Pros: I don't have yearly maintenance on the lawn mower. I can mow at 7 am before the heat comes out (or late evening) and not worry about disturbing the neighbors. It is small and easy to transport (I walk it through the house to mow the front yard instead of going around). It never gives you a fresh cut look (pro or con, depending how you feel), so I find myself mowing in increments. 10 minutes on the left side, then 10 minutes on the right side a couple of days later, and 10 minutes in the back yard. I enjoy just getting out there and taking care of it really quickly instead of making it a 30 minute ordeal. It looks cool and is fun to use. Cause there is no motor, I mow in flip flops.. Note: I have Bermuda in 1 half of the yard, and St Augustine on the other (that way when we bought the house), and it actually mows the St Augustine easier.
Cons: I think I mow the lawn a little bit more frequently. i.e. I would mow every 7 days normally with a regular lawn mower, and probably every 5 days for the same spot with this lawn mower (you need to mow before it gets too long as it becomes more difficult to push). You have to understand that there will be slight imperfections in individual blades of grass (more so for the St Augustine) when mowing. It does not catch every single blade of grass every time (maybe 99% of it), so you might have an occasional slightly longer blade of grass, which it will just get cut the next time. You have to be able to live with imperfections that you will only notice if you are looking for it. You never notice it in the street, but if you are sitting in the front yard, you can start to find them. For some reason the grass cuts better going one direction on the bermuda in parts of the yard, so I had to experiment a couple of (2) times to find the pattern that works the best for the spots that needed to be cut going up instead of down. (You just have to experiment). Note: I have zero issues with the St Augustine. Finally, you don't have a fresh cut look, so if you like that just cut grass look, you will not achieve that with this lawn mower. Instead, it will just always be the perfect height that you want it to be.
Overall: Love, love love it. It is fun, easy, low maintenance, and takes up little room in the garage. I just purchased the grass catcher for it a couple of days ago, so I will write a review at the end of the summer on the grass catcher. A reel lawn mower is not for everyone, but if you are already reading this, then this is probably for you and you will enjoy the ease and gas free lawn mower. I know I do.
