|Q.||My son is looking at a new 455 rancher, and I told him about your site, and not to buy one until he looks here. I have bought from you guys several years ago, and have never been disappointed. My saw is a 266 husky, I got from Baileys in about 1992, and it still knocks down the trees and bucks the firewood. About the new 455 Rancher I was with my son the other day and we were looking at this saw, and I noticeed that the handle is all plastic, compared to my 266, which is metal. Does this plastic stand up to the abuse my saw has seen? Are you having a lot of saw coming in for new handles that Have broke? How much does a new handle cost? Is this the right saw for a beginner (22 year old Marine)? Thanks for any help, and it looks like you might have a new customer. How long does the free shipping last?|
|A.||Saw manufacturing has gone toward lighter, rather than sturdier. However on the flipside, the handles though plastic are quite tough and will flex rather than bend like an older metal handle. We haven't had issues with the handle breaking on these. This is a good all around saw for your Marine. Teach him good chainsaw safety and not your old bad habits ;) and he'll do just fine. I can only guarantee free shipping till Dec 31, 2011.|
