|Q.||When you say heavy duty chassis could that mean that this chain will exhibit less frequent stretching than a regular chain with the same style cutters and used in the same manner on same saw? Are the Oregon LG cutters of a harder material than the Carlton's? I am looking for a chisel chain that stays sharp as long as possible and stretches as little as possible. I know, I know, I want my cake and eat it too Thanks.|
|A.||The 30XC chain is made of the old style Oregon LG cutter with a Windsor chassis. Oregon cutters are softer (relatively) than those of Carlton. Many people prefer this "soft" chain for easy & fast hand filing. The Carlton 30RC will stay sharper longer than this chain, but is a little harder to file. One secret on stretch: change your sprocket once it shows any wear - a worn sprocket stretches a chain quickly.|
