great tool, well built

This tool is a real back-saver. I use it for shuffling firewood around, and especially unloading rounds or split wood from my trailer. Maybe some day I'll get a dump trailer, but in the mean time this saves a lot of bending to reach those logs in the middle of the trailer when I'm unloading. Logrite is known for making some very tough, well-designed tools, and this one is no exception. Beware the clone sold by some other companies. The description they use is so similar it might make you think they are selling a "rebadged" Logrite tool. That is not the case. The imitation has an extremely weak hook attachment method, and the "rubber" grip fees more like plastic and slides off the handle in use. My only complaint with the Logrite Hookeroon is that the grip is a little big for one-handed operation (I wear a medium sized glove). I'm guessing that they could stand to down-size the shaft a bit, since this tool doesn't see the kind of stress that their cant hooks and peaveys do.

Indispensable tool

I wasn't quite sure how useful this tool was when I ordered it, but after using it all day to move and stack firewood, it's indispensable. It's very lightweight, but it feels pretty beefy when handling it and yanking heavier logs. Instead of having to do a lot of bending down to pick up small and split logs, this makes work so much faster and is a great back saver. It's even easy to drag larger logs around with it, and can stand them up for splitting. One quick swing is all it takes to set it, and away you go. It comes out of the logs pretty easily too - just a few twists side to side and the hook pops out, even after getting buried deep after overzealous swings.
