I have this can and have had to do some fabrication to it to get it to work.I had to twist the nozzel lock system until it opened and I screwed a sheet metal screw into it to hold it open.That design may work better for something weighing over 100 pounds . But if you go pushing on it while fueling a light chainsaw you are going to have some fuel in other places then in the fuel tank of in the saw for sure.
Now my bar oil and chainsaw fuel seemed to be keeping just about even as far as the volume in the can.The chainsaw seemed to be smoking a little more then usual for a while.I do not use them all of the time and they sat a few months between uses. Suspecting there was a problem I dumped the fuel and oil out and remixed a new full can of fuel and did not add any bar oil to the can. Sure enough before I used it again both the fuel and bar oil sides were level.I am sure that my can leaks through from one side to the other.
I dont mind the screw in the nozzel for the kind of cutting I use it for,but for sure not at all impressed with the fuel to bar oil mixture on it.

I like this can. It makes going out to the jobsite much easier when you only have one can to carry for the gas mix and bar oil. For me, that makes some of its quirks bearable. The gas nozzle easily fits every saw and gas powered tool I have which includes seven chainsaws, a weedeater, and two blowers. It's really not as hard to use as some have reported. As with any CARB compliant can placed out in the sun, it will build up pressure, so before attempting to fill the tool, vent the tank with the nozzle pointing away from you. To vent the tank or pour gas you will need to line up the green ring and click it in place. Then when you depress the nozzle with it inside the gas tank, the fuel will fill quickly and the sound will change as it covers the end of the nozzle. Lift up quickly and you are full. It's not that hard. I prefer the oil nozzle on a different model piggy but those aren't CARB approved anymore. It is much quicker to pour the bar oil out of a plain spout so I take off one point for that. I can usually manage to not spill any gas on fillups if I don't insist on trying to fill the gas tank all the way full which is not a good idea anyway; but I do frequently overfill the oil no matter what fill method I use. That's just me and not the fault of the tank. If I were going to make improvements to this tank, I would substitute a plain oil spout and put a clear fill up stripe on the gas side to monitor how much is left in the tank.

Just received this can today in my order from baileys. I could not believe how complicated the spouts are on this can. I can not see how a person could fill a chainsaw with it the way it is. you have to turn a green plastic piece to line up the slots with the spout itself so you can push the spout down to let gas or oil out. I will have to modify it somehow to be able to use it, or buy spouts that are more user friendly. the can itself is nice.

The CARB spouts are the downfall of this can. It is impossible to fill a chainsaw with these cans w/o spilling fuel all over the place. And, the oil runs out so slow it's not feasible to use for the bar oil. The spout has a "hook" about two inches from the tip that is supposed to catch on the gas and oil tank opening (rim), depressing the safety device, allowing the fuel or oil to flow into the tank. Nice idea, but the fuel/oil tank is only three inches deep, so you can only safely fill your tanks to a fraction of it's capacity. You can defeat this by clicking the safety and then holding in the nozzle with your hand and attempting to fill the tanks...which WILL spill all over the place. Definitely not safe or user friendly.

This is a great fuel can just as the old version was, but the spout is one of the worst of the CARB compliant spouts. It takes a lot of force to operate and they tend to freeze up after getting used a bit and dirty. I ditched the spout and bought two replacement spout packages that also come with a "transportation cap". I use the cap instead and just carefully pour from the fuel can with no spout. I bought mine at Ace Hardware. Not sure if the replacement spout that Bailey's sells includes the transportation cap.

I tried out this can and it works ok. What is good that it doesn't over fill the saw so that it spills on the ground or anything else. Although, I made a modification and cut off lock that holds the cap on the can, because I tore a hole in my hand trying to get the cap off. No kids at our place. In other words it does what it is suppose too.

I thought I'd found the fuel/oil can I'd been looking for. Did not bother to fill it as there's no way to reverse the spouts and fit them back into the can. They stick out like branches, waiting to break off in the field or in the bed of the truck.

This can was discarded without ever being used. The CARB approved spouts are impossible to use for filling a chainsaw and you will get fuel and oil spilled everywhere. Buy a couple of old cans or get type II safety cans or a pair of type I cans with funnels.
Thank your government E.P.A. and the California Air Resources Board for this asinine, polluting, unusable spout design.

The clunky, overly complex no-spill nozzles are really difficult to use on chainsaw tanks. If CARB's objective was to minimize gasoline spillage, their spout device does the opposite. It almost guarantees that you'll get gasoline and bar oil on yourself, on the ground and all over the saw. The gas can is probably double the cost it would otherwise be because of these rube goldberg spouts that it wears.
None of this is Bailey's or Briggs & Stratton's fault, though. I just thought people who aren't familiar with CARB spouts would want to know this before purchasing.
