Q.	in a 1 hr of steady work how much dose it cost me to run the electric chainsaw versus the cs-306 gas?
A.	There are too many individual variables to answer this question with any specifics. But on the whole the gas engine gives you more power, which gets the job done quicker than an electric can.

Very pleased

I've only had this chainsaw for a few days but have carved with it for several hours. It was easy to assemble and so far I have had no mechanical problems. It's size makes it capable of roughing away a fair amount of wood and can carve smaller details as well. After about an hour or so of carving I let the saw cool down, clean it, check the chain tension and sharpen as needed. Pretty much like using any chainsaw. Very pleased with the saw and with Bailey's.

Oil pump failed 2nd day

Great carving bar, and worked fine for the first day...but on the second day the oil pump stopped working. Baileys folks were very knowledgeable on this saw and they are sending me to the Makita Service people to have the suspected oil feeder hose replaced under warranty. This saw has a VERY small oil reservoir, and apparently it's widely known amongst existing owners that if you pump the saw empty, it sucks the feeder hose flat, and it does not recover, and the hose has to be replaced. NOT happy with this design! When I'm carving, I'm thinking about design, and don't want to be worrying every 10 minutes..(am I close to sucking my reservoir dry?) I can see where this is a great saw for ice carvers who don't use lubrication, but for me, I wish I had gotten something else like the stihl mse 220
