I'm looking to replace a damaged sprocket tip for my 32" 3/8 pitch .050 Husqvarna bar. My bar seems to be a single rivet replaceable tip. Would this RSN tip you sell replace mine? Do you sell any tips that would replace?

Husky bars are Oregon bars with a Husky logo. Either this or the 10080 375 will work on your bar.

Yes, both this tip or the 10080 375 will work on the Oregon Power Match bars.

The description says for .050, .058, and .063 guage. Do I need to specify the guage?

No, these tips take all gauges being that they are .063. It is the bar rails that needs to match the gauge of the chain.

Here's how: You will need safety glasses, hearing protection, good hammer and strong flat metal surface to set the bar tip on. Slide the new tip on with the X up and put the rivet fat bottom side down from underneath. I've generally given it 3 good smacks to flatten and seat it. Don't flip the bar o

Here's how: You will need safety glasses, hearing protection, good hammer and strong flat metal surface to set the bar tip on. Slide the new tip on with the X up and put the rivet fat bottom side down from underneath. I've generally given it 3 good smacks to flatten and seat it. Don't flip the bar over and hit. Stay on the same side and hit the rivet only. To check installation, (wearing gloves to avoid cuts) grip the bar body in one hand, the nose in the other hand and twist. The nose and body should feel like a single, solid piece. If not or any clicking sound from the head, tighten the rivet with a few more hammer strokes.
File down the new rails of the new tip to align with the rails of the old bar body. Grease the new nose sprocket until the excess grease appears around the nose-sprocket teeth. (Hide full answer) |

Which pitch should I use on my MS290 18" powermatch .063 bar?

We'd have to know what chain your are running first to determine exactly your pitch. However, on good guesstimate you are probably running .325 pitch. Verify before purchasing though. If you are using Stihl chain, the pitch is stamped on the raker.

Sorry, these are just slightly different that what is required for the Carlton single rivet tips. We're working on a good source for replacement tips for those Carlton bars in the mean time.

It was kind of a pain to get the old tip off. i ended up drilling a small hole through the center of the rivet (about 1/3 of the rivet diameter). After that the rivet came out real nice with a few bangs from a hammer and pin punch. the new tip went on easily and works great.
