Showing questions 1 - 1 of 1 Page: 1 Q. I have been using saws for 30 years of all kinds some good some bad and I am getting ready to clear several acres of timber of oak and maple. I have always used consumer grade chain with anti-kickback features. I have always felt this chain dulls to fast and cuts slowly. Am I wrong, anyhow, I have lots of experience with the safe professional use of saws. What will I gain or loose by moving to a professional type saw chain? As far as kickback experience I have had a few low power kickbacks becasue I was letting off the throttle as it caught something and the saw was always in control. For moving to a more professional chain you will find an increase in speed and let in the way between the cutter and the wood. The hazard of kickback will be greater though. Cutting speed is slower than a regular chisel chain, but with a limbing saw that is not an issue as you are cutting small stuff.
