Lewis Winch - Snatch Block Only

This block is specifically made for the Lewis winch and comes from the same factory. This block is rated to 1.5 tons using the 3/16 cable that comes with the Lewis winch. Snatch blocks are made where the side plate opens and you can attach the block where you need it on the cable without having to remove the load. Even though the Lewis winch alone is rated at 4,000 lbs, this block is only rated for 3,000 lbs. and should never be used beyond that capacity. This block would be useful for anyone who is using a smaller powerhead that doesn't give them the maximum pulling capacity.

Q.	What size cable is this snatch block rated? What is the capacity in Tons?
A.	This block is only rated to 1.5 tons, it is a light weight version of item LW N1003 which is rated to 4.5 tons. The Lewis Winch comes with 3/16" cable.

Q.	Why is this called a "snatch block" and not something else?
A.	Snatch blocks are made where the side plate opens and you can attach the block where you need it on the cable without having to remove the load.

Q.	The product info indicates the Snatch Block comes with 3/16" cable, rated at 1.5 tons. How long is this length of cable, and how are the ends of this cable configured for attaching rope?
A.	The Lewis Winch comes with 150' of cable with a hook on the end. This item is just the block shown in the picture.

Q.	If the Lewis chainsaw winch is rated to 4000 lb. (8000 lb. with a snatch block) why is the snatch block they offer only rated to 3000 lb.? This seems like an accident waiting to happen.
A.	This block is available for smaller redirection jobs and not intended for the full capacity of the Winch. We also carry item LW N1003, which is a 4.5 ton capacity snatch block.
