| Q. |
I am looking for a helmet with face and hearing protection that is compact, light weight. For working in the canopy yet also suitable for ground work. What are your recommendations?Stan
|
| A. |
Petzl would probably be your best bet for the versatility that you are looking for you. See A10B, A15 and for the hearing protection the 35717 Peltor muffs attachment . Or you can go the simple ear plug route for hearing protection.

| Q. |
What is the material the mesh made of? I am hoping stainless steel?
|
| A. |
Though Husqvarna doesn't say any where in their literature, we did the old fashioned magnet test on the screen. The magnet stuck, so it must be stainless steel.

Decent quality components for the money. Don't be scared off by comments discussing "hard assembly", it is very straightforward to put together. Fits very comfortably, ear muffs work great. Front screen attachments look a little flimsy but they are holding up well. I like that the screen is adjustable closer to or away from your face, so you can get it where you like it. A good value.

Takes a little trying to assemble, but worth it. I had about a 6' long and' about 6" diameter tree top (elm) fall around 20' right on my head. Pushed me straight to the ground. Walked away with shoulder abrasions, and a little head strap burn. If you use a chainsaw wear a helmet, and this is a good one.

I use this every time I'm cutting. It makes it easy to stay safe because you don't have to put on eye or ear protection separately. While refueling or moving logs you can easily slide the ear muffs back on top of the helmet and the visor up to cool down. Speaking of the visor, I like it because its mesh instead of a plastic shield. Doesn't interfere with your vision but the holes are small enough to not let the chips through.
Overall, I'm really glad I invested in this. The only con I can say is that it was a bit confusing when assembling it. Once assembled I've never had an issue.
