specialized bang for buck

it would be best to protect these cutters. Don't loan 'em, don't force 'em, don't twist 'em, and don't smack them around. Reason being, they don't have the eliptical aluminum handles. They have fibreglass handles. The compound action removes muscular effort. You can work without really using your arm muscles very much. This can help people with arthritis, immune reactions to exertion...they seem to cut up to about 1 1/4 inch. But if it were hardwood, it would be more like an inch 1/8. You just have to be careful that you don't overpower the handles. Think of the handles adjusted to half length or so. That is pretty good for up-to-full power cutting. But when the handles are fully extended, you should limit the force with which you work these cutters so as not to crack the handles. The long extension is for the ease of reaching. Not so much to force more work out of the tool. I found that fully extended is very comfortable for nipping at brush that is on the ground-to flatten it out with many cuts. This is not something a pro would do, it's too time-wasteful. But a homeowner might like these cutters. Certain pro's would use these, but many would be better off with a 2x more money long-handled non-compound cutter and stronger workers.
