Dinasaw 5-3/4" ABN Cyclone Grinding Wheels

Professional replacement wheels that fit most Italian (Maxx, Oregon 511, Tecomec, Speed Sharp) and Chinese (Carlton, Northern Tool) chain grinders. These wheels are made from CNC machined steel and have unique "cyclone" cooling slots to keep from overheating chain cutters. The wheel contains a mixture of ABN (Amber Boron Nitride) and CBN (Cubic Boron Nitride) abrasive grit fused on the radius. ABN and CBN have different fracturing properties which ensures it stays sharp as it wears. Both materials are much harder than the chrome and steel in saw chain, so it will last through 100's of sharpenings. These wheels excel because they grind cooler, don't load or clog in the presence of oil, maintain their shape and they will not break like a standard wheel. ABN wheels are perfect for production shops. Not recommended for carbide chain. Wheels are approximately 5-3/4" in diameter with 7/8" arbor. ABN and CBN is between 60 and 70 (0.25mm) grit. Q.	What is the maximum RPI rating of this wheel? Also where is this wheel made?
A.	They are made in Australia. The manufacturer states for optimal performance an RPM of 6000.

Q.	I just ordered one of these wheels and was wondering what I am supposed to use to clean/dress it with? I have heard to use the White aluminum oxide sticks? I realize its just to clean the wheel, and not change the profile.
A.	You do not want to use anything as abrasive as stone. The best method to clean is a wire brush and/or acetone.

Q.	What is the grit of this wheel and does it fit the Maxx grinder? Thanks!
A.	Yes, this fits the Maxx grinder and works for 325 and low profile 3/8 chains. The AB6 316 works for standard 3/8 and 404 chains. The factory doesn't provide an actual grit rating like you would have with the vitreous bonded, or CBN wheels.

Q.	I am all for high quality tools and parts and they can really make a difference. The price of this wheel could purchase a lot of regular wheels. How long will this wheel last compared to vitreous bonded wheels?
A.	Used properly is will last longer than many bonded wheels. But the biggest advantage to this wheel is it grinds cool and reduces the toxic dust that other wheels produce.

Q.	Stihl recomends a 13/64 grinding wheel for their 3/8 and .325 chain. With that in mind, what size Dinasaw wheel should I get for those particular Stihl chains?
A.	Here's the skinny that we recommend for the pitches: Low Profile 3/8 and .325 - 1/8" wheel Full Chisel 3/8 and .404 - 3/16 wheel

Q.	This wheel running on a Maxx Grinder leaves copious burrs on the leading edge of the tooth even when just kissing. Is this normal? Doesn't leave a very nice sharpening job. What can be done?
A.	If the chain cuts fine it is not a problem. The burrs go away as soon as the tooth touches the wood.

Cyclone Wheel and Maxx Grinder

The combination of the ABN wheel and the Maxx grinder make grinding chains an easy chore. The wheel runs true and keeps it shape making for a perfect grind every time. A bit expensive, but once you have one of these it is difficult to go back to a conventional stone grinding wheel.
