Q.	I own a couple of the Jerry Cans and avoid using them due to the fact that they spill fuel when ever I use them due to the vent hole location. Does this spout adress the poor design of the Jerry Can for dispensing fuel? That is, with this spout, will all the fuel in the can end up in the fuel tank I am filling?
A.	This spout only fits on the CARB model Jerry Cans. CARB approved cans are exactly what you have described: designed to reduce gas fumes and get all the gas in the tank.

Auto-shutoff jerry can spout

Although the listing doesn't say this, the item looks exactly like the Auto Shut-Off Spout I got from Lee Valley Tools and which works beautifully. An FAQ question asks if it will address fuel spillage from the jerry can vent hole. My experience is that you can leave the can vent shut. That way the air comes in through that little extension tube in the tip, and the flow automatically shuts off when the fuel level reaches it. If you need the included adaptor fit your can, be sure to heed the instruction to use a tool (such as a strap wrench or large pliers) to tighten it on.
