When you say that "The chain must be lengthened", do you mean I need to get the next longer chain for the bar, or just that you adjust the existing chain out to be "longer"?Thanks,Tom

You won't have enough adjustment to use your current chain. As an example, if your saw has a 16" bar, you would need a chain for an 18" bar to make it work.

It comes with splines for both size chains. The 325 is usually the one already on the machine.

Hello, I am considering a Log Wizard debarker and wish to mount it on my Stihl 210C. I am pretty sure that the saw came stock with a 14 inch bar. Can you also provide the longer cutting chain needed to install on my saw? Thanks Dave T.

We usually suggest a chain that would work on a bar 2 inches longer, so in your case the WPL 30LP56 should do the trick, assuming your saw is running Low Profile (Picco) 3/8" pitch x .050 gauge. I am hoping to shave long black locust poles quickly. This tree has a coarse (thick) bark. What can I expect from this tool, which seems like, as a planer, it would do better with tighter, thinner barks from wood like pine or oak? Thanks.

Actually hard barks should be ok and of course take a bit more time than a thin bark. If the bark is stringy, like redwood or cedar then it tends to wrap around the wizard.

I have read in previous Q and A that stringy barks such as cedar and redwood tend to wrap around the log wizard. These are the logs I mainly planned on using this tool for. Is there another tool you would recommend? Or do you think this one is adaquite?

A draw knife is a slow, but clean alternative. Search "Draw Knife" and you'll find a nice selection.

It has to be mounted on the inside on the clutch side to drive it. There is no other way.
