What does this grinder use to clamp the chain, hydraulics or manual clamp? Can this grinder be used to set chain cutting depth?

It's a manual clamp that can be seen right in front of the chain on the left side of the photo. Yes, rakers can be done with the 1/4" wheel provided with the machine.
I just got a Speed Sharp - Speed Sharp Auto (with the hydraulic locking vise). I haven't been able to find it online. Is this item discontinued? Thanks!

Can you sharpen full chisel chains with this grinder, like the WoodlandPro 30RC?

Yes, these grinders can sharpen any chain currently on the market that uses a round file to sharpen, like the 30RC. In that case you use the 3/16 wheel provided with the grinder.
Hi, Can you point me to the right grinding wheel for .050 square chisel and a .063 square chisel (72CL & 75CL)? I am having a hard time finding a square wheel that says it fits this grinder.

If you want the same square angle then you need a Silvey grinder like item # SC R2, SC PS or SC SDM4. The above grinder will turn your chain into round file chain, regardless of the wheel you use. There is no grinder on the market that does both round and square file, they either do one or the othe

Do you have all replacement parts? What the lead time for parts? Is the whole asembly made out of metal? Will all grinding wheels mount on your machine or will your's only fit.Thanks and let me know. Wayne Dement

We keep the bulbs in stock and most parts we could arrange. Since this grinder comes from Italy the delay could be a while. Any wheel that matches the 7/8" arbor and circumference- 5-3/4" will fit this machine.
what size wheel do i use for a .325 pitch chain that calls for a .187 round file is there a chart that would tell me the information so i can order extra wheels with my grinder i'm thinking of buying? also what size wheel for the raker?

For your .325 pitch chain you would need a 1/8" wheel or a 3/16 round file. To do the rakers 1/4" wheel would be recommended. We don't have the wheel/file application on our chain reference chart, however most (if not all) the chain we sell, we suggest the recommended wheel and file size.
Another reviewer claimed the bolt that holds the wheel was cross threaded, but this is not true. As it comes from the factory, the female threads are an interference fit, and yes, it is a PITA to swap wheels with that danged interference fit. Chasing the threads with a 6mm tap solves that problem.
The vise is very precise and easy to use, however ..... if you attempt to open so wide that it hits the stops, the casting breaks. I learned this the hard way as did several others. The broken part was replaced under warranty, but just be aware that the vise does not like to be opened too wide. Only open 1/8 - 1/4 turn of the handle and you'll be fine.
The numbers are hard to see when the vise is tilted toward the operator.
Despite those issues, the grinder does a very good job. I'd probably buy another one if the need arose.
First one ordered came with a screw cross threaded, the one you have to loosen to change the wheel. RMA and returned it. They shipped out another one, open the box and the same screw on this one is also cross threaded. I have not used it yet so I can not tell how well it sharpens the chain. This is no fault on Bailey's part, they just sold it. They did RMA the first one and promptly shipped out another. Being a mechanic I will just put a insert in the hole and make the pieces fit so the screw will go in straight. I have chains waiting and can not afford to RMA another one. I will order again from Bailey's but can not recommend this grinder. Their quality inspector needs to have their vision checked.

Bailey's Note: Screws are set with thread locker to keep rust out. So before assuming that threads are cross threaded, grab the motor shaft with needle nose pliers and back out the screw. If you have any concerns speak with Casey in the service Dept concerning this issue.
