Peavey Mfg 3-1/2' Timberjack

Peavey Mfg has been making quality logging tools in Maine for over 150 years. The timberjack is essentially a modified cant hook. This is a great tool for linemen and chainsaw operators, as it will lift one end of a log or pole off the ground and hold it securely. The linemen will save time and toll maintenance by using the timberjack to hold the pole at a convenient height while it is being fitted with hardware. The chainsaw operator will find it safer to use the timberjack when sawing logs. It will raise the log off the ground to help prevent chain damage, pinching and kickback. Timberjacks come with a 2-3/8" diameter hardwood handle.

Q.	Can I put a point on the Timberjack to make it a peavey?
A.	The manufacturer does not offer this option for this product. However, LOG RITE does have a Timberjack stand (ULS 006) for their Cant Hooks/Peaveys.

Q.	Can I replace the Timberjack handle with a longer handle?
A.	A longer handle is not available for this product. However, with the Log Rite brand you can purchase a 78" Cant hook and convert it to a Timberjack (ULS 006).

Q.	How big of log will this take in its mouth not to pick up but to roll?
A.	There really is no maximum as it will grab hold of any size wood. We like to say "If you think you can physically move it then this will get the job done"...

Q.	I have the same problem as Scott D (in the Reviews), where logs sometimes roll down toward the handle. Any tips for keeping them stuck between the points? (Otherwise, it's a very strong and well-made tool.)
A.	I have had the same problem with mine. If you lift a log on any slope you must be uphill of the log or it will chase you down the handle.

Timberjack - good tool

I use the timberjack to roll and hold oak to approximately 20 inches. This tool grips logs with no problems at all. The only problem is that when you roll the log, it would help to have a "stop" to keep the log from possibly rolling down the handle. I will probably modify. Very good overall tool.
