Piston Ring Clamp Set

Changing a piston and cylinder in a chainsaw can become a tedious process. Give yourself a third hand with this kit. This kit will compress piston rings ranging from 40mm to 60mm in diameter. Includes a piston support block and piston stop.

Here's how you use the clamp kit:
First, place gasket on cylinder base, then slide the flat plate with the slot in it, from front straddling the rod. Then install your piston bearing pin and clips and rings. Select the correct red band to compress the rings leaving the top 1/8 " of the piston exposed. We suggest you lube the cylinder with a small amount of premix oil ,then slide the cylinder over the piston and install screws.

Q.	I have purchased item #10429 piston ring clamp and block. My question is what is the white peace for and how is it used. It appears that it should be used with the piston block some how.
A.	Yes, the white piece is the piston stop.

Q.	Is the piston ring clamp set made of plastic or metal? And will it fit a Stihl 021 model?
A.	It is made of plastic. It will work on the 40mm piston of the 021.

Q.	This kit says it is for 40 to 60 mm pistons. Your piston ring kit for 017 is 37 mm and says I will need this kit # for the 017. Will it be too small enough for the 37mm piston? Thanks
A.	Greetings - The copy was incorrect and it will work with pistons from 30-60mm, so it work for your 017. Thank you for the inquiry.

If you are doing any saw work at all this kit is worth having around. It makes putting a piston back in very quick and easy. You can spend more money on another kit but this will do everything you need and then some. It is a very good quality kit. I have been using it for a few months now and it makes my job a lot easier.
