Windsor 24" Speed Tip Bar & Chain Combo for Stihl (.375" x .050") 84 Drive Links

Get a great buy on this professional bar and chain combo from Windsor. These combo include a solid steel Windsor Speed Tip bar and loop of fast cutting Windsor 50APL chisel chain. Windsor bars and chains have been the choice of professional cutters for decades. Speed Tip bars are machined from solid heat-treated micro alloy steel, designed to give your chainsaw optimal performance. Five rivets secure the replaceable nose, which assures maximum resistance to nose spreading or rivet failures. The slim contour of the body of the bar makes longer bars slightly lighter for the operator. You also get a loop of fast cutting WoodlandPro 30RC chisel chain to match. This chain makes quick work of both hardwoods and softwoods. 30RC chisel chain is easily maintained with standard 7/32" round chainsaw files or 3/16" grinding wheel. Both bar and chain are 3/8" pitch and .050 (1.3mm) gauge.

Q.	I have a Stihl MS 460 and am in need of a new 25 in bar and chain, I want to do some chain saw milling with an Alaskan saw mill. I am told I need a ripping chain. Can you suggest a bar and chain combo that will work for me? Thanks SBJordan
A.	This combo will cut faster if you do not mind a rough cut when you mill, and provided the wood is clean. The ripping chain gives a smaller kerf, requires less power (you have plenty), cuts smoother but slower. It also holds an edge longer in dirty conditions due to the semi-chisel style cutter.

Q.	I was wondering if it matters how many teeth are in your drive sprocket - I have a 3/8 8 sprocket on my Stihl 038 Magnum II and many of the bar chain combinations only talk about a 3/8 7 sprocket - so does that matter?
A.	Thanks for the great question, as it can be an issue. Almost all saws these days come with a 7 tooth sprocket standard from the factory. A 24" Stihl with 3/8th chain normally takes 84 drive links. In your case if you put the chain on the bar and then put both on the saw at the same time you should be able to squeeze it on. Once it runs a bit it will stretch out and fit fine. Q.	i have stihl 460 mag it has .375x.050x18" bar on it now! is there a benifit to 0.63 bar&chain? i would like to go to 32"bar for when needed and if so what would i have to do to change my saw?
A.	On an 18" bar you don't need to be concerned with a heavier gauge chain. Bars from 28" and up it is something to consider. So on a 32" bar it would be more recommended.
