TREEFLEX DETAILED SIZING INSTRUCTIONS

The measurement for the TreeFlex harness size correlates to the pelvic measure, not the waist. The measurement MUST be taken with a tape measure around the rim of the hips, slightly above where a belt sits for most people (not the waist). Measurements should be taken while wearing pants and a t-shirt. Typically, this measurement is two inches larger than your pants waist measurement. We measured someone here at Bailey's who wears a size 36" waist in pants, his pelvic rim measure is 38" and therefore would he would comfortably wear a medium TreeFlex saddle. Clothing layers need to be considered, so if you're just inside the upper limit, you'll be better off with the next size up. It is very important to ensure the correct waist size, to ensure the hip Ds sit in the correct position, and sufficient room for adjustment is possible between summer and winter clothing:

• Small is sized 32" to 36"
  
• Medium 36" to 40"
  
• Large 40" to 44"

The leg strap sizing is adjustable from 17"/43cm up to 28"/72cm on the small and medium and 17"/43cm up to 32"/ 82cm on the size large. Putting a large bridge into a medium harness may help those with large thighs to slide the waist belt up without getting "stuck."

If they're just learning to climb you might be better off purchasing a slightly more durable (and less expensive) leather saddle like the Weaver's we sell. Is this an option through Baileys? A. Yes, that would be an option. These come from Europe so it would be at least a 8 week lead time and there would be additional charges for the customization. This would be considered a special order item that could not be returned once the order had been processed. It felt quite strange at first wearing the saddle so low; but after I adjusted it to wear they recommend, it was AWESOME! Very non-invasive and you hardly even know it is on, at at 3 pounds (if it is even that)it is by far one of the lightest saddles on the market. Where it really shines is when you lanyard in; because it rides so low, it supports you in all the right places with no back pain at all! The raised sacrum pad does its job very well and when the saw is hanging from the rear loop like they suggest, it allows access from both left and right sides, plus it pulls the pad into your sacrum, effectively supporting it like no other saddle can. I like the gear attachment loops and the hexfoam lining will be a good thing this summer when we get real hot humid days. The Treeflex is my saddle of choice now, and time will tell how the durability holds up, that is the only reason I am not giving it 5 stars. If I did give it 5 there would be no room for improvement.
