I have 2 61husky's. One is down on compression and I was thinking about doing an upgraded to a 272 jug and piston with a new carb (I need a new carb anyway). I was told that the 61 intake would not work. Will the intake elbow that I saw on your website work?Also would a leaking gasket cause the compression to be down?ThanksL. Speakman

Basically unless you have a machine shop, it is not valid to put 272 top end on a 61, the intake is different in every part and the base gasket will cause the saw to seize and lower compression.

Will this carb work on my 266? My Clymer's manual says the 266 and 268 use the same carb. The inlet port, choke and throttle controls are in the same place.

Though it will fit your Husqvarna 266, there would be some modification you would have to make to your top cover and air filter to adjust the idle speed. The 268 and 272 has the hi and low and idle are on the carb. With the 266 the high and low are on the carb, but the idle is on the crankcase.
