You need the 7/32 stone for standard 3/8 chain. If you have the Picco 3/8 pitch, used on the very smallest saws, then it is the 5/32 stone.

The standard (non diamond) grinding stones say they last for a "few" sharpenings. How many sharpenings should I expect to get out of the standard and then these EZE LAP diamond-impregnated stone? You say these don't lose their shape, but do they lose their grinding effectiveness? If so, how long does that typically take? Thanks for the help!

They do not loose their shape but usually the get filled with grit, grease, or pitch. So a clean chain will give a better life. And even in clean conditions they will eventually get smooth. I use these stones in my Granberg G1012XT, bar-mount rotary grinder on standard steel chain and am quite pleased. These diamond impregnated stones have an exceptionally smooth surface, but still have good grinding speed. The resulting cutter surfaces are much smoother than those created by rough stones such as the Molemab or Granberg. You can see the roughness of the Molemab stone in the Bailey's picture. When viewed through a 10X loupe, the difference in roughness between the two types of stones is dramatic. For severe chain damage where you need to take off 0.010" or more, the rougher stones might be somewhat faster; but for routine touch-ups or even light dirt damage, the EZE-LAP may give you the best combination of short grinding time and fast cutting chain for your rotary grinder. Also, when used with the G1012XT, the smoother surface of the EZE-LAP stone makes it easier to feel the file stop, allowing more accurate control of cutter lengths.
