Q.	Why doesn't Echo disclose HP and can you tell me the HP for the 310?
A.	In past times the HP listing was the standard. About 10 years ago companies began being sued over their claimed HP. HP on small equipment tends to be a trickier issue between load and no load etc. What the manufacturers have decided is to simply state their CC rating and leave it at that.

chain jumps bar

Third chain saw I've owned and 1st Echo. Bought a 310 new from Home Depot yesterday. Everything looked good. Used it about an hour and the chain jumped off the bar. The chain was ruined. Took it back to Home Depot and they did a great job changing it out for a new 310. Ran the new one about an hour and checked the chain tension. Still OK but tightened it just a bit so it's the same tension as cold. Ran it another 2-3 hrs. Chain jumped the bar and ruined the chain. E-mailed Echo and I'll update the results. Besides that I LOVE this saw. Starts easily and runs great. My other 2 saws were 16" but Home Depot didn't sell a 16" Echo and I like it better. Lighter and more manuverable. Much easier on the wrists as I work my way through thick brush in the woods. Chain tightening tool comes w/the saw and it's a one piece/multi tool tool. Carry it with you and watch your chain tension.

As a homeowner, I've had a number of 16-inch chainsaws over the years. When my last one gave out, I decided to step down to a smaller chainsaw and step up to a more reputable manufacturer. The Echo CS-310 seemed to fit the bill. I used the CS-310 to help clear a half-acre of densely packed trees, up to 10" in diameter, on our family's property. I was pleasantly surprised by how well the chainsaw performed. I'd say the 310 delivered as much effective torque as the larger chainsaws that I previously owned. It certainly was much smoother and quieter. And what I was most pleased with was the EASY starting. If it was a cold start, I could usually get it to turn over within a half-dozen pulls. If the engine was already warm, I could often get it to run with the first pull. (It starts up today as easily as it did the first day I bought it!) I also used the CS-310 to prune my overgrown backyard litchi tree. The task of trimming the limbs while standing on a ladder was out of the question using the cumbersome 16-inch chainsaws. With the smaller, lighter CS-310, I could comfortably reach most of the limbs with little stress or strain. (Note: The riskiest limbs were dispatched by pruning saw.) Bottom line: The Echo CS-310 is, by far, the best chainsaw that I have ever owned. Highly recommended.

My first Echo. Great saw.

This is my first Echo. I have owned chainsaws from 30 cc up to 60 cc. This saw exceeds my expectations. Light and well balanced. Fantastic for trimming. It is easy to start and has lots of power for a 30.5 cc saw. It has no noticeable vibration and its muffler is very quiet. It is economical on gas. Its ease of handling is like holding a light saber. The Echo CS-310 is very user friendly.

Better than Husqvarna... IMHO

I returned my Husqvarna to our local hardware store because it had some problems starting, and when it does the engine just keeps shutting off. I bought the Echo 310 and I was trimming trees and dead trunks in our backyard in about 15 minutes. I love it!! It's powerful, easy to start and very simple....just what I needed to maintain our yard. Oh..bought a Homelite earlier ..returned it because that thing just takes a lot of effort to start (very frustrating). I just love Echo, bought a weedeater 2 years and it works perfect. I tried Husky because it's one of the leading brands out there, but I was disappointed. What was I thinking? Should have bought the Echo right away since I had good experience with it. I regret wasting my time experimenting with other products. Buy Echo..reliable, simple to operate and wow...very powerful!!

Purchased this saw for many reasons, reputation Echo has, great warranty, and easy starting. Have used this saw for several weeks on large trees and small. It is very easy to start, lightweight, but has the spunk to handle large tasks. Vibration is minimal! Can handle 12, 14, or 16 inch bar. This is my first Echo product and will not be my last! Exceeded my expectations.
