We don't know of any 16 strand single braid rope made in North America, so it's hard to say. That being said, a Fid it a measuring tool to help with the layout of a splice and has a short Fid measurement marked on it. So what ever works, works. We do have Fids made for 5/8" and 3/4" ropes. That being said, a Fid it a measuring tool to help with the layout of a splice and has a short Fid measurement marked on it. So what ever works, works. We do have Fids made for 5/8" and 3/4" ropes. We recommend using a a splicing kit and following the directions on the rope suppliers web site.
