Red Dawg Boots - Lace-to-Toe Vibram

These 12" tall, hand-made Vibram boots are built to last. They feature high quality leather, Goodyear welt construction, double leather on vamps, double middle soles, rolled, padded top band and Vibram 100 lug soles with brass eyelets and studs. These boots also feature steel shanks and leather heel base with lug heel.

Sizes: 7-12 (half sizes in between), "D" and "EE" widths. This boot is also available in size 13D.

Q.	My husband really needs a good pair of boots for his line of work. He is a tree climber and he needs tree climbing boots? Are these boots for this specific reason? I need to know if these are tree climbing boots. Not hiking... Thank you
A.	These are general work boots that are often used for climbing. Use search CLIMBER BOOTS for a full line of boots designed specifically for tree climbers.

Q.	Are these steel toe? Are Red Dawg boots made in USA?
A.	Item 53803 are the steel toe version. The are made in Canada.

Q.	I am a looking for a good boot that will stand up to Wisconsin's elements.(rain, mud, snow, rocks, and brush) I am a logger in a lot of steep terrain, so I need good ankle support, and comfort for the long days in the woods. I really don't want to spend the money on these boots if they wont take the beating I'm going to give them. By any chance do these come with 200g of insulation? 9
A.	These boots are made in Canada and many customers will not wear anything else. The do not come insulated however.

A.	No, the Red Dawg Lace to Toe Vibrams aren't NFPA certified.

Poor Quality

I have purchased 3 pairs of these boots for myself and two employees. My pair had the stitching start to separate within 2 months. Now, 5 months later, stitching has separated in 4 different places and the sole is breaking apart. My climber's boots lasted about 12 months before his soles started to break apart and now the stitching is coming apart everywhere. The money we saved on my climber's boots buy not purchasing Wesco's was not worth the short life he got out of them. And the extra money I spent on my pair was a far cry from the life I could get out of a pair for half the money. I will not purchase Red Dawg again.

I have to say these are the best boots I have ever owned. I bought these boots when I worked for the Kentucky division of Forestry. I had 4 years worth of fire line work on these. Now that I dont do wild fires anymore I still wear them for my job as a welder and when doing tree work here and there. I also have owned a pair of much more expensive "Smoke Jumpers" and found these Red Dawg boots to be as or more comfortable.
