This answer is from the horses mouth, namely the manufacturer. The material of the head of throwing ax is No.45 Carbon Steel. It's wrought by implemental hammer by hand. The heat treatment process is the rough head passes through 1000 centigrade heatronic, and then we put it into chemical liquid, cooling, and then heat treatment again in about 350 centigrade for 45 minutes, so after this process, the metal has better tenacity. The head is not casted. The handle is hickory, and it's strong.
