Q.	Which do you prefer is better for a beginner, this or to fell a tree?
A.	If you plan on falling trees professionally for timber harvesting, this is the book for you. If you plan on falling your first tree... then "To Fell a Tree" is your choice.

Great book well worth the money

Nice amount of basic and advanced info. Great resource for beginners and experienced fallers alike. Very well illustrated. Good basic info for how and why each type of tree face works and what each is best for and what it is not suited for. I have a copy and give them out too people learning how too use a chainsaw. Well worth the info contained in the book. This book is good tool too learn how prevent a accident or serious chainsaw injury. Scotty
