This dog set won't work on yourStihl MS441. See #QA 11286 640500. The size difference is 1.375". 5 point dogs are 7-1/2" whilst the 4 point is 6-1/8".

We do carry a replacement felling dog for the Stihl 039, however we don't carry the large set that will suit the 039. The smaller/mid range saws don't have the beefier bar stud mounts to take the torque that the large dogs would place on them.

The manufacturer wanted to go over all the differences between their dogs and the Stihl factory stock dogs. 1. The materials we use are very high grade tempered spring steel which may be more durable than original equipment dogs. 2. The teeth of the four point dog are in approximately the same position as the top and bottom dog spikes of the original dog but we make four instead of five spikes to increase the pressure on each spike tip to make for easier penetration into the bark for increased stability. 3. The spikes on Pro Safety dogs are longer and very sharp to accommodate deeper bark or harder wood. 4. The increased spacing between spikes gives more room for the heavy bark and allows the spike to penetrate through to the wood. 5. The five point dog is extended one inch below the four point dogs to reach difficult situations encountered in falling or bucking. 6. The five point dog is especially suited to be used with our Pro Safety Handlebar (#17494) as it sets flat on a surface with the additional support bracket underneath our handlebar. 7. The five point dog has longer spikes than the four point dog.
