If it's just for large firewood, for example, the peavey is used more. If using in finished lumber, slabs, cants, etc. then the cant hook is more popular. If you are doing a combination of firewood and finished lumber and do not want two tools, then the can't hook would be the common choice.

Will work,left far better quality cant hooks that were 60 yrs. old in Georgia. For $90 I guess my expectations were a little high. Peavey Mfg. be careful, there is a difference between saving money,being competitive and flirting with cheap.
