I have been a professional feller for 25 years. I always used the same 3lb Collins axe to drive wedges. the handle has been replaced a few times. I always used a top quality collins handle that was purchased from Baileys. The other day my handle in that old trusty axe was looking a little rough. I figured it was time to order 2 more. I was deeply disappointed when I saw that baileys no longer carried Collins products. I figured I could count on their Woodsman pro line to be a good product but was I WRONG. I put the first handle in against my better judgement. When I first looked at them I saw they were very low quality. The growth rings in the wood were over a 1/4 inch apart. That is not handle quality wood. the first one lasted me for two trees. Trying to drive the wedge in the second wedge the handle snapped. so I put the second one in that night even though it had a four inch long crack in it. I needed it to work the next day. Guess what it lasted most of the next day before it broke too. The Collins handles lasted for years not hours like the woodsman pro's did. I will be looking else where for handles and if this is the quality of Woodsman Pro I will be staying away from the rest of their products. Woody

This is the only handle I've purchased that does NOT include metal handling wedges. It's a solid piece of wood but you need to buy handling wedges seperately, and Bailey's does not sell them.
