Matsumura 1-1/2" Firmer Chisel
Matsumura Firmer Chisels, are used for carpentry and heavy cabinet and boat work. They are longer and made to a heavier pattern than other chisels. Mr. Matsumura uses the Hokkaido Pattern to give these firmer chisels a fine balance and provide the user with excellent control. Each blade is hand-forged from the best quality "white" steel laminated to wrought iron. The blades are tempered to Rockwell c64 and are finished in the traditional fashion. This one has two hollows in back. The handles are best quality Akagashi (Japanese Red Oak), double hooped to prevent splitting. Each Firmer Chisel is fully sharpened and comes with instructions for maintaining a razor edge. Blade width is 1-1/2", overall length is 12" and the blade length is 3-1/2". Excellent quality, sure to be a family heirloom for future generations of woodworkers.
