Kawasei 1-1/2" Firmer Gouge
Kawasei Firmer Gouges will accept an edge impossible to obtain with any Western made equivalent. They are hand-forged from "white steel" inlaid on wrought iron. The master blacksmith individually tempers each blade to Rockwell c64°. The inside of the blade is well polished and the bevel is sharpened to a razor edge. Their heavy construction ensures that Kawasei Firmer Gouges will stand up to the heaviest mallet, and yet, will make the most delicate of cuts. The handles are made from Akagashi (Japanese Red Oak), double hooped for a lifetime of use. Overall length is 9-3/4" and blade length is 2-3/4". Excellent quality, sure to be a family heirloom for future generations of woodworkers.
